The Anand Control Model FG50P2 is a worm drive rotary geared limit switch engineered for safety and precision in industrial applications. It is directly attached to the motor's gearbox via a shaft and coupling. This design ensures accurate tracking of machinery movement. The flexible coupling is crucial as it protects the limit switch's shaft from stress caused by misalignment, enhancing durability and reliability.
Working Principle of FG50P2 Limit Switch
The FG50P2 operates on a robust worm drive mechanism, which generates sufficient torque to rotate the internal gears. The main shaft's rotation is transferred to a helical gear. Based on the selected gear ratio, cams attached to the gears also rotate. A standard FG50P2 includes at least two cams for setting the upper and lower travel limits of machinery like a hoist.
Each cam can be independently adjusted with fine-tuning screws to precisely define the stopping points. When the machinery reaches a preset limit, the cam activates an electrical contact (available as Normally Open or Normally Closed) which cuts off the motor's power. This action immediately stops the machine, allowing it to move only in the reverse direction, thus preventing accidents and equipment damage.
